JAMES RICHARD MAGILL, 72



COLUMBIANA -- Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Seederly-Mong & amp; Beck Funeral Home, here for James Richard Magill, 72, of 122 N. West St., who died of complications of pneumonia Saturday in Salem Community Hospital, where he was a patient for four days.
Mr. Magill was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Salem, a son of James and Ida R. Hollenshead Magill, and was a lifelong area resident. He retired as CEO of Etna Freight Lines of Warren in June 2000, after more than 35 years of service. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ in Columbiana, Allen Lodge 276 F. & amp; A.M. in Columbiana, for more than 50 years, and in earlier years, was active in 4-H Horse Clubs in Columbiana County.
Besides his wife, the former Betty Lou Pepe, whom he married Jan. 18, 1974, he leaves two daughters, Laural Morrison of Columbiana and Sandy Duckworth of Corona, Calif.; a son, Jack of Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be at 9 p.m.; and for one hour before services on Tuesday.
