ESSIE MCNEELY, 77



AUSTINTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kinnick Funeral Home for Essie McNeely, 77, of 10 Idlewood Road, formerly of Lansdowne Blvd., who died of cancer late Friday at home.
Mrs. McNeely was born April 18, 1924, in Stone, Ky., a daughter of Harman and Alice Queen Marcum, and came to Youngstown from Williamson, W.Va., in 1957.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Cathedral of Praise Church of God in Niles. She had also been a founding member of the Lanterman Road Church of God. She enjoyed singing.
Her husband, Edward, whom she married June 30, 1948, died Dec. 31, 2000.
She leaves two sons, Clarence M. and Eddie, both of Youngstown; a daughter, Alice Hoover of Austintown; two sisters, Eloise Jenkins of Grayson, Ky., and Mageline Maynard of Grove City, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Five brothers, Russell, Estil, Cecil, Freeman, and her twin, Jesse, and two sisters, Ethel Marcum and Isabell McNeely, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and for one hour before the services Tuesday.
