Driscolls' 50th jubilee observed at family dinner

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. and Mrs. Richard B. Driscoll, 1445 S. Meridian Road, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during a family gathering April 7 at Birch Hill Cabin in Mill Creek Park.
Arrangements for the festivities were made by their son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Debra Driscoll of Youngstown. They were assisted by other family members, William and Marguerite Stitzel of North Lima, Ronald and Rebecca Bigelow of Lakeland, Fla., and Sharon and James Driscoll and Crystal and Paul Driscoll, all of Youngstown.
The couple have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A son, Richard Driscoll, is deceased.
The couple were married April 9, 1951, in the chapel at Brook Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where the Rev. Driscoll served as a surgical technician instructor with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. They are members of the home-based Grace Chapel Church.
The Rev. Driscoll retired from active ministry in 1999 and serves as a volunteer chaplain with the Youngstown Police Department and as a part-time Mahoning County deputy sheriff. He is a member of the Law Enforcement Alliance of America and the National Rifle Association.
Mrs. Driscoll, the former Ruth Gillespie, conducted Bible clubs in her home for more than 20 years and also conducted Bible clubs for many years in homes in South Carolina.
