A suspicious house fire is the focus of Mercer County Crime Solvers this week:
Crime: Arson.Location: 281 E. Silver St., Sharon.Details: Police said someone entered a second-floor apartment at 281 W. Silver St. around 11 p.m. April 3 and started a fire in a stairway. The blaze, spotted by a police officer on patrol, burned up the stairway and an exterior wall to the roof. The house was vacant and slated for sheriff's sale for nonpayment of taxes, authorities said.Contact: Call Crime Solvers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (724) 347-HELP. Callers do not have to give their names.Reward: Crime Solvers, a nonprofit organization, offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for a serious crime in Mercer County.
