BANKING
SALINEVILLE -- William White III has been named vice president and branch manager of Sky Bank's Salem office, and Mark Witmer has been promoted to vice president and mortgage sales manager. White, a Salem resident, is returning to Sky with nine years of previous management experience. He has bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from West Virginia University.
Witmer, a Columbiana resident, joined Sky in September as a branch manager. He will be based in Columbiana but will oversee four eastern Ohio market areas. Witmer has a bachelor's degree in management from Malone College in Canton and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Youngstown State University.
SOCIAL SERVICE
YOUNGSTOWN -- Fred Sonnett has been hired as executive director of Burdman Group, Inc. The social service agency provides vocational rehabilitation and residential treatment to individuals with disabilities in Mahoning and Trumbull counties and administers Sojourner House, Mahoning County's domestic violence program. Sonnett came to Burdman Group from Goodwill Industries of Akron, where he was chief executive officer. He lives in Canfield.
UTILITIES
YOUNGSTOWN -- Tom O'Masta, a Youngstown native, has been named gas operations planning manager for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Mich. Formerly a field manager for the gas business unit, O'Masta is a 1967 graduate of Ursuline High School and has bachelor's degrees from Ohio State University and St. Vincent College in Pennsylvania. He lives in Rochester Hills, Mich.
AEROSPACE
YOUNGSTOWN -- Benjamin Burney, a Youngstown native, has been promoted to plant manager of the Phoenix, Ariz. division of Goodrich Aerospace, a manufacturer and marketer of aircraft engine components. A 1980 graduate of East High School, he earned a diploma in machine tool technology from Choffin Career Center before joining the United States Air Force, then held management positions with several aerospace companies before joining Goodrich as an engineer in December. He has an associate degree from the University of Phoenix.
ADVERTISING
McDONALD -- Dini Castronova of McDonald has been named media director of Innis Maggiore Group, an advertising and public relations firm in Canton. Castronova had been a media planner and buyer for Marcus Thomas in Cleveland. She has a bachelor's degree in advertising and public relations from Youngstown State University.
ARCHITECTURE
YOUNGSTOWN -- MS Consultants Inc. has acquired Crafton Architects and Associates of Youngstown and has added Jay Crafton of Hubbard and Summer Stoy of Kent to its staff. Crafton, a former principal of Crafton Architects, has an associate degree in civil engineering from Youngstown State University and is a registered architect in Ohio. He will serve as a project architect for MS in its Youngstown office. Stoy has a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and expects to graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in architecture from KSU. She will serve as an architectural intern until her graduation, then will assume project architect status.
FINANCIAL
AUSTINTOWN -- Austin Gregory Jr. has been promoted to associate manager in the Youngstown office for American General Career Distribution Group on South Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown. Gregory joined the company as an agent in 1988. American General is a diversified financial services organization.
