Balas anniversary celebrated April 7 during a surprise dinner party

POLAND -- Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Balas of Poland Center Drive were honored during a surprise dinner party held April 7 at the Holiday Inn, Boardman, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lucisano of Cary, N.C. There are also three grandchildren in the family.
The former Gladys Wasko and Mr. Balas were united in marriage April 7, 1951, at the Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown. They are members of the Holy Family Church.
Mr. Balas, a self-employed draftsman, is retired from Machine Design in Boardman. He is a member of several bowling teams.
Mrs. Balas, a homemaker, was formerly affiliated with the offices of Kraft Foods in Youngstown. She is also a bowler.
