Austintown Historical Society plans high tea in May at Strock House
Tours of the landmark and a basket raffle are also planned during the two-day event.
AUSTINTOWN -- The Austintown Historical Society will sponsor its annual high tea May 5 and 6 at the Strock Stone House, 7171 Mahoning Ave.
Seatings are scheduled for 12:30 p.m., 2 and 3:30 at Austintown's National Historical Landmark. Free tours of the Strock House will be offered after each seating.
The menu includes coffees, a variety of teas, finger sandwiches, scones and pastries, and will be served on English bone china. In keeping with the theme of the high tea, decorations will be antique tea pots and cups and saucers from around the world.
To attend: Reservations are required. The cost is $10 per person, and gift certificates are available. Call (330) 792-3232.
There also will be a basket raffle on both days. The basket includes a tea pot, teas, tea towel, placemats and other related items. The cost is $1 a ticket, $3 for five tickets or $5 for 15 tickets. The winner need not be present.
All proceeds will benefit the Austintown Historical Society.
