STEVE SCHURKO, 93

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kubina-Yuhasz Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church for Steve Schurko, 93, of 2935 Shirley Road, who died Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Schurko was born Jan. 29, 1908, in Youngstown, a son of Steve and Johanna Jankular Schurko, and lived in the area all his life.
He worked 29 years at Woodside Receiving Hospital, where he a maintenance superintendent when he retired in 1972. He was a member of the church and National Association of Power Engineers.
His wife, the former Katherine Halchalk, whom he married July 11, 1935, died July 19, 2000.
He leaves a son, Thomas S. of Boardman; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A sister, Mary Andrella; and a grandson, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a Panichida service will be at 5 p.m.
