CLARENCE D. BURNS, 93



BOARDMAN -- Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home and 1 p.m. in St. Charles Church for Clarence D. Burns, 93, of 8572 Southern Blvd., who died Friday morning at Ron Joy Nursing Home.
Mr. Burns was born July 4, 1907, in Youngstown, a son of Frank F. and Lillian Warner Burns, and was a lifetime area resident.
He retired in 1966 from the Boardman Branch of the U.S. Post Office after more than 37 years as a postman. He was a member of the church, the National Association of Federal Employees, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Fish and Bass Masters Club.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
Besides his wife, the former Mildred M. Jenkins, whom he married July 19, 1932, he leaves two sons, David C. of Pittsburgh and Thomas R. of Rockville, Md.; a brother Robert of Youngstown; two sisters, Ruth Harrelson of Youngstown and Betty Jean Bayman of Berlin Center; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Four brothers, Floyd, James, Frank Jr. and John, and a sister, Louise Carr, are deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
