LANCE C. LOVELACE JR., 47
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Union Baptist Church for Lance C. Lovelace Jr., 47, of 804 Sherwood Ave., who died Monday morning of liver cancer in Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Lovelace was born Sept. 2, 1953, in Youngstown, a son of Lance C. Sr. and Ora L. Parker Lovelace. He moved to Seattle, Wash., in 1982 and returned to Youngstown in 1989.
He was a welder for the Seattle Shipyards and was a security guard here for Star Extruded Shapes Inc.
He was a member of the church and its security ministry, and a former member of its choir and usher board. He graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and attended ITT Technical Institute, where he majored in computers. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his mother, Ora L. Hughes of Girard, he leaves a son, Lance C. Lovelace of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Tina L. Lovelace, stationed with the Air Force in Lakenheath, England, Summer O. Lovelace of Las Vegas and Regina Lovelace of Akron; two brothers, Creston B. Lovelace and LaMont Baker, both of Seattle; two sisters, Shirley M. Dalquist of Sitka, Alaska, and Paulette Lovelace of East St. Louis, Mo.; a grandmother, Eva Parker of Campbell; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. today at Mason Funeral Home and for one hour before services Saturday in the church.
