OHIO SEASONS
Squirrel: Open Aug. 18, 2001 through Jan. 31, 2002. Hours 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. Daily bag limit: 4
Dove: Hunting days and bag limits will be set later.
Grouse: Opens Oct.13 and runs through Feb.28, 2002. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset on private property and sunrise to sunset on public hunting areas
Ducks, geese, coots and mergansers: Hunting days and bag limits will be set within the framework provided by the federal government. The regular duck and goose seasons for all zones will be announced at a later date
Young hunters season: Open on Oct. 20, 21, 27, and 28, 2001 on all public hunting areas. A special youth turkey season will be open on April 20 and 21, 2002 on public hunting areas only
Fall wild turkey: Open Oct.13 through 28, 2001. Ashtabula, Geauga, Licking, and Trumbull counties are added to the existing list of 28 counties open to fall turkey hunting. Limit one turkey of either sex per fall season. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. Dogs may be used to hunt turkeys in the fall season
Rabbit: Open Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 through Feb. 28, 2002, except in portions of Geauga and Ashtabula in an area bounded on the north by U.S Route 6, and on the west by State Route 528, and on the south by U.S. Route 322, and on the east by State Route 534 where the season shall be Dec.4 through Feb. 28, 2002. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. Daily bag limit is four
Pheasant: Open Nov. 2 through Jan. 1, 2002. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset on private lands; sunrise to sunset on public hunting areas. Daily bag limit is two. Only male pheasants may be taken
Quail: Open Nov. 2 through 25, 2001. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. Daily bag limit is four. Gallia and Hamilton counties have been removed from the list of counties open to quail hunting
Fox, opossum, skunk and weasel trapping: Open Nov. 10, 2001 through Jan. 31, 2002. No restriction on hours. No daily bag limit
Fox hunting: Open Nov. 10, 2001 through Jan. 31, 2002. Daytime hunting of fox is closed during deer gun season. No other restriction on hours and no daily bag limit
Raccoon trapping: Open Nov. 10, 2001 through Jan. 31, 2002. Season extends through March 15 in Erie, Ottawa, and Sandusky counties and Lucas County east of the Maumee River. No restriction on hours and no daily bag limits
Raccoon and opossum hunting: Opens Nov. 10, 2001 through Jan. 31, 2002. No restrictions on hours and no daily bag limit
Mink and muskrat trapping: Opens Nov. 15, 2001 through Feb. 28, 2002. Season extends through March 15, 2002 in Erie, Ottawa, and Sandusky counties and Lucas County east of the Maumee River. No restriction on hours and no daily bag limit
Beaver trapping: Opens in the north zone (the area north of Interstate 76 and east of Interstate 77) Jan.12 through Feb.28, 2002. The south zone (includes the rest of the state) opens Dec. 26, 2001 through Feb. 28, 2002
Spring wild turkey: Opens April 22, 2002 through May 19. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to noon daily. Limit two bearded turkeys per hunter, per spring season. Only one turkey may be taken per day
Crow: Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only from June 15 through March 24, 2002. Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. No daily bag limit
Falconry seasons: The season for quail will be from Nov. 2, 2001 through Jan. 14, 2002; for squirrel Aug. 18, 2001 through Feb. 28, 2002; for pheasants, Nov. 2, 2001 through Jan. 14, 2002; for rabbits, from Aug.18, 2001 through Feb. 28, 2002; and for grouse, from Aug.18, 2001 through Feb. 28, 2002
PENNSYLVANIA SEASONS
Squirrels: Red, Gray, Black and Fox (Combined): Special season for eligible junior hunters, with or without required license - Oct. 6-8; Fall Season - Oct. 13-Nov. 24; Late Seasons - Dec. 10-24, and Dec. 26-Feb. 9, 2002 (6 daily, 12 in possession limit after first day)
Ruffed grouse: Oct. 13-Nov. 24, Dec. 10-24 and Dec. 26-Jan. 12, 2002 (2 daily, 4 possession). T
Rabbit (Cottontail): Oct. 27-Nov. 24, Dec. 10-24 and Dec. 26-Feb. 9, 2002 (4 daily, 8 possession)
Pheasant: Male Only - Oct. 27-Nov. 24. Male & amp; female in designated areas - Oct. 27-Nov. 24, Dec. 10-24 and Dec. 26-Feb. 9, 2002 (2 daily, 4 in possession)
Quail: Oct. 27-Nov. 24 (4 daily, 8 possession).
Hares (Snowshoe) or varying hares: Dec. 26-Jan. 1, 2002 (1 daily, 2 possession)
Woodchucks: No closed season except during the antlered and antlerless deer seasons and until noon daily during the spring gobbler turkey season
Crows: July 1-Nov. 25 and Dec. 28-April 7, 2002, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. No limit
Starlings and English sparrows: No closed season except during the antlered and antlerless deer seasons and until noon daily during the spring gobbler turkey season. No limit
Wild turkey: (Male or Female): Management Areas 1A, 1B, 2 & amp; 7A- Oct. 27-Nov. 10; Area 7B - Oct. 27-Nov. 3; Areas 3, 4, 5, 6 & amp; 8 - Oct. 27-Nov. 17; Area 9B - Oct. 27-Nov. 3; and Area 9A - Closed to Fall Turkey Hunting. (1 bird limit, either sex)
Spring gobbler: (Bearded bird only): April 27, 2002-May 25, 2002
Black bear: Nov. 19-Nov. 21
Elk (Antlered or Antlerless): Nov. 12-Nov.17. Daily and season limit: 1. (The Executive Director is hereby authorized to extend, by order, in accordance with Title 58, Section 139.3, this season by five days, from Dec. 26-Dec. 31, excluding Sunday, if the harvest quota is not met during the first season. If the quota is not met during the first extension, a second five-day extension from Jan. 2, 2002-Jan. 7, 2002, excluding Sunday, may be ordered.)
Deer, archery (antlered and antlerless) statewide: Sept 29-Nov. 10 and Dec. 26-Jan. 12, 2002. One antlered deer, with 2 or more points to an antler or a spike 3 or more inches long, per season.** One antlerless deer with each required antlerless license
Deer (antlered and antlerless) statewide: Nov. 26-Dec. 8. One antlered deer, with 2 or more points to an antler or a spike 3 or more inches long, per season.** An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license
Antlerless deer (statewide): Oct. 18-20. Junior and Senior License Holders, Disabled Person Permit (to use a vehicle) Holders, and Pennsylvania residents serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Services or in the U.S. Coast Guard only, with required antlerless license. One antlerless deer with each required antlerless license
Deer, antlerless flintlock (statewide): Oct. 13-20. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license
Deer, antlered or antlerless flintlock (statewide): Dec. 26-Jan. 12, 2002. One antlered ** or one antlerless deer and an additional antlerless deer with each required antlerless license

Where (**) is denoted, only one antlered deer (buck) may be taken during the hunting license year.
FURBEARER HUNTING SEASONS
Raccoon, fox: Oct. 13-Feb. 23, 2002, unlimited
Coyotes, fox, opossum, weasels: No closed season, with certain exceptions during deer and spring turkey seasons. No limits
Bobcat (Furbearer Management Zones 2 & amp; 3): Oct. 13-Feb. 23, 2002. One per permit. (Bobcats may only be taken by furtakers in possession of a Bobcat Hunting-Trapping permit.)
TRAPPING SEASONS
Mink, muskrat: Nov. 17-Jan. 13, 2002. Unlimited
Coyote, fox, opossum, raccoon, skunk, weasel: Oct. 14-Feb. 23, 2002. No limit
Beaver (statewide): Dec. 26-March 31, 2002 (Limits vary depending on Furbearer Management Zone)
Bobcat (Furbearer Management Zones 2 & amp; 3): Oct. 14-Feb. 23, 2002. One per permit. (Bobcats may only be taken by furtakers in possession of a Bobcat Hunting-Trapping permit.)
Falconry season: Sept. 1-March 31, 2002. Daily and Field Possession limits vary
