HELEN RODDA, 86



SHARPSVILLE -- Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, for Helen Rodda, 86, of 1800 Gaskins Road, Richmond, Va., formerly of Milliken Avenue, Sharpsville, who died Wednesday afternoon in Medical College, Richmond, after a long illness.
Mrs. Rodda was born July 14, 1914, in Sharpsville, a daughter of Anthony and Rose Carbon Williams.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School, St. Mary's of the Spring in Columbus, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Youngstown and Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
She was a nurse 25 years at General Electric Corp. in Cleveland before retiring in 1974.
She was a member of the church and its Women's Club and Widow's Club. She was a former member of Shenango Valley Women's Club, the Auxiliary of John XXIII Home for senior citizens, and had belonged to several bridge clubs.
Her husband, Jack, whom she married Sept. 12, 1940, died Sept. 21, 1994.
She leaves two daughters, Dr. Mary Suzanne Hasenstab of Richmond, Va., and Patricia Ellen Smink of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Louise Saborsky of Hermitage and Julia Patrick of Sarasota, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Four sisters, Lucille Perfett, Mary White, Della Galsky and Mildred Williams; and five brothers, Dominic, Patrick, James, Albert and John Williams, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home in Sharon.
