YOUNGSTOWN -- There are no services or calling hours for Hartford H. Hartzell Sr., 76, of 638 Parkwood Drive, who died Wednesday night in Boardman Community Care Center, Boardman.
Mr. Hartzell was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Knox, Pa., a son of Frank and Sadie Moyer Hartzell, and moved to Youngstown in 1952. He worked as a loader at Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co. for 25 years and then was a shipper at Pipe Metal Co. for 10 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of United Steelworkers of America Local 1418, American Association of Retired Persons and the Jednota, and was a stock car driver and boxer.
He leaves his wife, the former Sally Switka, whom he married Dec. 14, 1963; two daughters, Regina Miller of Youngstown and Carolyn Porter of Knox; a son, Hartford II of Knox; a brother, Norman in Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, David; five sisters; two brothers; and a grandson are deceased.
