Girl's dog bites lead to parents' arrest

SHARON, Pa. -- Police arrested the parents of a 4-year-old girl who was bitten at least three times by a family dog this school year.
Renene Butler, 28, and her husband, Gregory, 30, of Ellsworth Street, were arrested at the police station at 9:45 a.m. Thursday on warrants charging them with recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of children.
They were arraigned before District Justice James McMahon and freed on their own recognizance.
Police said Mercer County Children & amp; Youth Services has been asked to investigate.
Police said the couple's daughter attends preschool in Sharon schools and showed up three times this school year with untreated dog bites that had become infected.
The girl was bitten on the face, arm and leg. Police said the family had four dogs, which have since been removed from the house, though only one of the animals bit the girl. Two older children in the home weren't bitten, police said.
