RUTH CANTY-WATTS, 83



WARREN -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church for Ruth Canty-Watts, 83, of 684 Maple St. S.W., who died Sunday at her home.
Ms. Canty-Watts was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Luvern, Ala., a daughter of James O. and Gussie McGhee Canty.
She retired in 1984 after 30 years as a dietary technician at St. Joseph Riverside Hospital. She attended a training school in Crenshaw County, Ala.
She was a member of the church, where she was a former choir member and kitchen committee helper.
She leaves two sons, George A. of Rollinsford, N.H., and John E. of Jacksonville, N.C.; two daughters, Essie L. Powe of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mary G. Watts of Milwaukee; a sister, Ola C. Richardson of Warren; and 11 grandchildren.
Four brothers, Dud, Willie, Preston and Donnie Canty; and three sisters, Rose K. Canty, Lalie B. Davis and Berbeana C. Hopkins, are deceased.
Friends may call one hour before services at the church. Arrangements are by Sibley-Murray Funeral Home, Warren.
