JAMES MORRIS CANTY, 94

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Black & amp; Phillips Funeral Home for James Morris Canty, 94, of 1216 Fifth Ave., formerly of Bennington Avenue, who died Sunday in Park Vista Nursing Home.
Mr. Canty was born Aug. 23, 1906, in North Carolina, a son of James and Julia Canty, coming to this area 50 years ago. He was a laborer for LTV Steel Corp. and had been a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
His wife, the former Lenora Jones, whom he married Nov. 16, 1946, died April 15, 1996.
Among others, he leaves two foster daughters, Evelyn LeSueur of Cleveland and Elizabeth Irby of Youngstown, both of whom he reared; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A son and daughter are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before services at the funeral home.
