ALOIS BROZOVIC, 75



CORTLAND -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul's Croatian Catholic Church, East 40th Street, Cleveland, for Alois (Slavko) Brozovic, 75, of 500 E. Main St., Cortland, who died Monday morning at his residence.
Mr. Brozovic was born April 22, 1925, in Ogulin, Lika, Croatia, a son of Milan and Paula Sikorsky Brozovic, and came to the United States from a refugee camp in Austria in 1951.
He attended a baker trade school in Croatia, and retired on disability in 1985 from Patterson-Leitch Co., Cleveland, where he was a machinist. He served in the Croatian Army and was a member of the church, the Croatian Catholic Union, Hrvatski Oslobodilacki Pokret (HOP), Kolo Hrvatski Vitezovi and United American Croatians, and had worked for the liberation and statehood of Croatia.
His wife, the former Ruza Eres, whom he married Aug. 9, 1952, died March 28, 2000.
He leaves three sons, Milan and Anthony, both of Cortland, and Louis of Brunswick; a daughter, Rosemary Vrataric of Eastlake; a stepdaughter, Donna Igrec of Willowick; a brother, Branko Brozovic of Brisbane, Australia; and five grandchildren.
Two brothers, Darko and Josip; a sister, Pavica; and a stepson, John Bulic, are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Golub Funeral Home, 4703 Superior Ave., Cleveland, where a prayer service will be at 3 p.m. today.
