WILLIE MAE MAYFIELD, 71



WARREN -- Services will be at noon Friday in New Jerusalem Fellowship Church, for Willie Mae Mayfield, 71, of 3990 Templeton Road N. W., who died early Wednesday in Houston after a long illness.
Mrs. Mayfield was born June 8, 1929, in Ramer, Ala., a daughter of Willie and Florence Mayes Caffie. She was secretary for the Warren Board of Education for 30 years, retiring in May 2000.
A 1947 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, she was a charter member of the Warren Civic League and the Hill Toppers Bowling League. She was a Baptist.
Her husband, Gerald A., whom she married Oct. 29, 1955, died March 30, 1989.
She leaves two sons, Jeffrey A. of Houston and Wayne S. of Dallas; a brother, Joe C. Caffie of Warren; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, Earlene and Josephine Caffie, are deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Sibley-Murray Funeral Home.
