PHYLLIS NEMETH, 79

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Christine Church for Phyllis Nemeth, 79, of The Inn at Christine Valley, Schenley Avenue, who died Tuesday at Briarfield at Ashley Circle.
Mrs. Nemeth was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Rose Andrews Viggiani.
She worked at Northside Medical Center 23 years, where she was a registered nurse, before retiring in 1987. She graduated from the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing.
She had served overseas as a lieutenant in the Army.
She was a member of the church, where she served on the Youngstown Catholic Nurses Retired Nurses Association.
Her husband Andrew, whom she married in 1949, died April 15, 1957.
She leaves a daughter, Carole Krupa of Twinsburg; a sister, Gloria Pondillo of Austintown; and two grandchildren.
A brother, Anthony; and two sisters, Angeline Gergel and Mariann Viggiani, are deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
