JOHN MOLENT, 76
SHARON, Pa. -- Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Flynn Funeral Home, Hermitage, for John Molent, 76, of 297 New Castle Ave., who died Tuesday afternoon in his home after a long illness.
Mr. Molent was born June 24, 1924, in Youngstown, a son of Paul and Mary Gigac Molent, and attended Campbell schools. He was a motor inspector's helper for five years at Republic Steel Corp. and a riveter for three years at Youngstown Steel Door.
He was a Byzantine Catholic. A World War II Army infantryman, he fought in the Battle of Normandy and received a Purple Heart.
He leaves a sister, Helen Polkabla of Campbell, and a brother, Michael, with whom he made his home.
Three sisters, Mary Cohen, Ann Vitt and Margaret Diana, are deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
