GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Baird Funeral Home for Charles E. Thomas Sr., 70, of 94 Kinsman Road, West Salem Township, who died Saturday evening at home.
Mr. Thomas was born Oct. 28, 1930, in West Middlesex, a son of Clarence and Ida Mae Coxson Thomas.
He retired in 1986 from Greenville Steel Car Corp., where he worked for 38 years. He attended Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a member of VFW Post 7599 in Greenville, International Order of Odd Fellows in Hamburg, Pa., American Legion Post 945 of Greenville and had served in the Army during World War II.
His wife, the former Mary Janet Barwell, whom he married Dec. 18, 1948, died Feb. 8, 1997.
He leaves a son, Charles E. Jr. of Fredonia, Pa.; two daughters, Mary Katherine Millero of Fredonia and Sharon L. Weaver of Jackson Center, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A half brother, Frank Coxson, is deceased.
