ATTY. NATHAN SCHWEBEL, 91 Was a revenue officer for the IRS



YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Itts Memorial Chapel at El Emeth Granada Cemetery for Atty. Nathan Schwebel, 91, of 584 Granada Ave., who died Thursday morning in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Schwebel was born May 11, 1909, in New York City, a son of Morris and Esther Stempler Schwebel, and came to Youngstown as a child.
He was a 1932 graduate of Ohio State University. He was a revenue officer for the IRS until 1972 and was in private practice from 1972 to 1977.
He was a member of Temple El Emeth, B'Nai B'Rith 339, American Legion Post 15, Western Star Lodge 2 and the Mahoning County Bar Association, which honored him in 2000 for 65 years of service. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
His wife, the former Shirley Lustig, whom he married in 1960, died Feb. 24, 2001.
He leaves three nieces and two nephews.
Three brothers, Samuel J., George and Max, and a sister, Mary Schwebel, are deceased.
Contributions may be made to Heritage Manor or Temple El Emeth. Arrangements are by Shriver-Allison-Courtley-Weller-King Funeral Home.
