WARREN -- Trumbull County auditor's office is building a photographic database to show the front exterior of every residential and commercial building in the county.
The initiative is part of improvements being made to appraisal records.
County Auditor David Hines expects it should take about two months to photograph the county's 140,000 improved parcels.
Workers in a white van marked with the auditor's office sign have begun driving along every street in the county videotaping property from the public right-of-way.
They also will be verifying addresses needed by the Geographic Information System mapping department.
Hines said the project will improve the county's real estate records, enhance GIS efforts and provide a "before" picture of a structure in case it is damaged or destroyed and owners need a photo for insurance purposes.
Photography will be handled by Sabre of Dayton.
