RAYMOND ANTHONY, 87 Was Champion Township trustee
CHAMPION -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Champion Presbyterian Church for Raymond Anthony, 87, of 1299 Center St. West, who died of complications Sunday in St. Joseph Health Center, Warren, after surgery.
Mr. Anthony was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Champion, a son of Paul and Virginia McCracken Anthony. He lived most of his life in Champion having wintered in Venice, Fla., for several years.
He graduated in 1932 from Champion High School and was a township trustee from 1956 to 1971. He retired as a foreman in 1976 after 34 years at United Telephone Co. in Warren.
He was a member of the church, where he had been a trustee, and was past president of the Champion Lions Club. He also was a member of Carroll F. Clapp Masonic Lodge 655 and Elks Lodge 295 in Warren, and had bowled in several area leagues.
He leaves his wife, the former Annis Bumgarner, whom he married June 9, 1935; a daughter, Phyllis Mackey of Champion; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
Two brothers, Howard and Charles, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Roberts-Clark Memorial Home, Warren, where Masonic services will be at 8 p.m. Friends may also call for one hour before the service in the church.
