LOUIS P. CVENGROS SR., 84



CAMPBELL -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Wasko Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Louis P. Cvengros Sr., 84, of 860 Carlton Drive, who died Monday morning in Omni Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Cvengros was born July 3, 1916, in Gates, Pa., a son of Joseph and Mary Kalafut Cvengros, coming to Campbell as a child. A World War II veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne Division, he received a European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and a good conduct medal with six Bronze Stars.
He was a retired inspector in the Coal Strip Department of Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co., where he was employed for 43 years.
He was a member, usher, acolyte and choir member of the church and a member of its men's club and Men's Catholic Jednota. He was a member of United Steelworkers Union Local 1418 and its senior group.
His wife, the former Ann M. Tomich, whom he married Sept. 7, 1946, died Aug. 13, 1997.
He leaves a daughter, Regina M. Floor of Campbell; a son, Louis P. Jr. of Mont Belvieu, Texas; a sister, Cecelia Tondy of Struthers; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Two brothers, Frank and Stephen J.; and two sisters, Margaret M. Cvengros and Helen Hudak, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
