WESLEY A. HOOVER Sr., 61



SALEM -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stark Memorial Funeral Home for Wesley A. Hoover Sr., 61, of 674 E. Sixth St., who died of congestive heart failure Saturday afternoon at home.
Mr. Hoover was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Boggs Township, Clearfield County, Pa., a son of Robert W. and Mary Weaver Hoover, and had lived in Salem for 10 years.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Salem, served in the Navy, and retired in 1991 after 23 years in the paint department at General Motors in Wilmington, Del.
His wife, the former Alice A. McCrae, whom he married Oct. 18, 1960, died Dec. 27, 2000.
He leaves two sons, James and Wesley A. Jr., both of Fort Myers, Fla.; two daughters, Cathy Merryman of Salem and Judith Welch of Hudson Mills, N.Y.; a sister, Donna Shoemaker of Guys Mills, Pa.; two brothers, Daryl of Coitsville, Pa., and Lee of West Grove, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
A sister, Helen Kent, and a brother, Wayne, are deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
