THERESE C. TANNEHILL, 86 Eucharistic minister; started preschool
POLAND -- Services will be noon Tuesday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, and at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, for Therese C. Tannehill, 86, of 21 Riverside Drive, who died Friday afternoon of a heart attack at her home.
Mrs. Tannehill was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Akron, a daughter of Grace Mitchell Cronin.She was a homemaker and a member of the church, where she was a Eucharistic minister. She was founder of the CPA Auxiliary Wives and started the first preschool for children who are mentally retarded in Youngstown.
She was a member of the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, a volunteer for Beeghly Oaks Care Center and a former member of the Youngstown Country Club. She was active in Poland-area senior's groups. She and her husband were active in the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.
Her husband, Marshall P., whom she married July 31, 1935, died March 20, 1996.
She leaves three daughters, Noel Tannehill Dickson of Newton Square, Pa., Mimi Tannehill Kim of Boardman and Christina Tannehill Yerian of North Carolina, two sons, Terence M. of Boca Raton, Fla., and Marshall P. Jr. of Poland; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Judith Ervin, is deceased.
Friends may call at the funeral home two hours before the service.
