NICHOLAS KOZLOW, 83
POLAND -- Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at Kinnick Funeral Home, Youngstown, and 10 a.m. in St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, Austintown, for Nicholas Kozlow, 83, of 2288 W. Manor Ave., who died Thursday evening in St. Elizabeth Health Center of complications from a fall March 27 at his home.
Mr. Kozlow was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Youngstown, a son of Theodore and Katherine Murdock Kozlowsky, and moved to Poland in 1950.
He was a 1936 graduate of South High School.
He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II.
He worked as a pipe inspector at Republic Steel/LTV for 43 years until retiring in 1979.
He was a member of the church and its choir and was a volunteer for the parish kolachi project and annual festival. He was formerly a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Youngstown, and formerly was a member and treasurer of its Boyan choir.
He was a member of the Campbell Senior Citizens and the AARP.
Besides his wife, the former Helen Marunczak, whom he married Oct. 6, 1946, he leaves three sons, Richard of Garrettsville, Dr. James of Poland and Philip of Mount Vernon; a sister, Mary Merdich of Austintown; and four grandchildren.
A brother, Michael Kozlowsky, is deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
