NHL PLAYOFFS Saturday's other games

Sabres 4, Flyers 3, OT
PHILADELPHIA -- Jay McKee's goal with 1 minute, 58 seconds remaining in overtime gave Buffalo a 2-0 lead in the series. Buffalo's Dominik Hasek made 32 saves, and Curtis Brown scored the game-tying goal early in the third. Flyers goalie Roman Cechmanek, who allowed a total of just two goals in a four-game sweep of Buffalo in the regular season, stopped 37 shots. As the fast-paced overtime neared its end, McKee took a pass from Erik Rasmussen and wristed the puck just inside the far post. Philadelphia had taken a 3-2 lead by scoring two goals in 1:41 of the second.
Red Wings 4, Kings 0
DETROIT -- Vyacheslav Kozlov scored twice, Sergei Fedorov had a goal and an assist and Chris Osgood stopped 20 shots as Detroit extended their first-round winning streak. Detroit has won 13 straight first-round games, which breaks a record set by the Edmonton Oilers from 1983-86 and now have a 2-0 lead in the series. The Kings have not won a playoff game since the 1993 Stanley Cup finals and have lost 14 straight postseason games, including four in the first round against Detroit last season. Detroit coach Scotty Bowman had Fedorov center two lines while he shuffled his lineup with one less forward and an extra defenseman to compensate for the loss of Steve Yzerman and Brendan Shanahan. They account for nearly 20 percent of the Red Wings' offense. Steve Duchesne added a goal and an assist for the Red Wings, who are unbeaten in 21 games at home. The win gave Detroit coach Scotty Bowman, the winningest coach in NHL history, his 1,400th win combining his regular season and playoff victories. Felix Potvin made 28 saves for the Kings.
Sharks 1, Blues 0
ST. LOUIS -- Scott Thornton scored on a breakaway at 13:52 of the second period, and rookie Evgeni Nabokov recorded his first playoff shutout and victory as San Jose evened the series at 1-1. Thornton, assisted by Vincent Damphousse and Niklas Sundstrom, got behind the St. Louis defense for a clean break and beat Blues' goalie Roman Turek with a wrist shot. The breakaway was the first decent scoring chance for San Jose, which managed just three shots in the first period and finished with 19. Turek, who stopped 21 shots and allowed only a late goal in Game 1, again played well after recovering from a horrid stretch. He has allowed just three goals in his last four starts. Thornton, who made his debut with San Jose against St. Louis in October, had 19 goals and 17 assists in the regular season -- both career highs. Nabokov, who turned away Keith Tkachuk's shot on a 2-on-1 break in the first period, stopped 28 shots -- including 13 in the third.
Oilers 4, Stars 3
DALLAS -- Daniel Cleary, Rem Murray and Anson Carter scored power-play goals as Edmonton took out the frustrations of a 13-game losing streak in Reunion Arena and tied the series at one game apiece. The Oilers stopped a 2-13 skid in playoff games against Dallas by coming out aggressive and keeping it up, even after the Stars led 1-0 on Mike Keane's goal 26 seconds into the game.
Maple Leafs 3, Senators 0
OTTAWA -- Curtis Joseph made 37 saves for his second shutout in less than 24 hours, and Gary Roberts scored twice as Toronto took a 2-0 lead in the series. Joseph extended his playoff shutout streak against Ottawa to 166 minutes, 50 seconds. He has 11 career shutouts in the playoffs. Sergei Berezin added a goal for the Maple Leafs.
