Boy, 1, critical after falling into creek

WEST FARMINGTON -- A 15-month-old boy searching for Easter eggs was in critical condition Saturday night after falling into a creek.
Quick work by adults and rescue crews brought back the weak vital signs of Briston A. Mihalov, who was in the water five to 10 minutes, authorities said.
The boy was flown to the pediatric intensive care unit at Cleveland Metrohealth Medical Center.
The toddler wandered away from an Easter gathering of family and friends at 4810 Hickory Road just after 3 p.m. Saturday, said Lt. Dan D'Annunzio of the Trumbull County Sheriff's Department.
The boy was in a yard where there was an egg hunt. A creek is nearby.
Steps down from the house into the yard may have screened the view of the boy from adults, D'Annunzio said.
Adults found Briston floating on his back.
Adults and Farmington firefighters did cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the boy, said John Dale, fire chief.
