'SECRET ANNEXE' Shows and events



Several events are tied to the premiere of "The Secret Annexe."
J.E. Ballantyne Jr., the play's author, will speak at 10 a.m. April 21 at Temple El Emeth Synagogue and 10 a.m. April 28 at Ohev Tzedek-Shaarei Torah Congregation, both in Youngstown.
The premiere will be at 8 p.m. May 3 at the Oakland Center for the Arts in Youngstown. The event is sponsored by the B'nai B'rith Mahoning Lodge 339. For tickets to that show, call the Jewish Community Center at (330) 746-3251.
The first show for the public will be at 8 p.m. May 4. Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. For tickets for that and all other shows, call (330) 799-6176.
Remaining shows for the public are 8 p.m. May 5, 2:30 p.m. May 6, 8 p.m. May 11 and 12, 2:30 p.m. May 13, 8 p.m. May 18 and 19, and 2:30 p.m. May 20.
Ten shows will be for local school pupils. One is at 9:45 a.m. May 6 sponsored by B'nai B'rith. Seats are available. Tickets are $5. The other school shows are at 9 a.m. May 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,15, 16, 17 and 18. Tickets are $3.
The Anne Frank Story Exhibit will be on display at the Oakland. It consists of 17 hanging panels depicting photos of Anne Frank and her family. Exhibit hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday from May 1 through May 25. There's no charge. The event is also sponsored by B'nai B'rith.
