KATHRYN BELLE VANHORN, 86
NILES -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Church of God in Mineral Ridge for Kathryn Belle VanHorn, 86, of 1500 McKinley Ave., who died Friday morning in Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home.
Mrs. VanHorn was born July 12, 1914, in Home, Pa., a daughter of Andrew and Susanna McMaus Juart, and lived most of her life in the Mineral Ridge and Niles areas.
She was a cook for many years at Fogerty's Restaurant in Niles and retired in 1974, and had also worked as a cook at Rudy's Snack Shack and Alberini's Restaurant. She was a member of the church and Niles Senior Citizens Center.
Her husband, Floyd, whom she married Jan. 1, 1933, died July 27, 1987.
She leaves four sons, Charles of Dayton, Pa., Howard of Mineral Ridge, Gary of Austintown and James of North Jackson; four sisters, Adeline Burns of Creekside, Pa., Mary Ayers of Smithsburg, Pa., Ellen Juart of Ravenna and Bernadette Walters in Georgia; a brother, Edward Juart of Mineral Ridge; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Edward, Louis and Theodore Juart, and a great-grandson, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home in Niles and one hour before the service Tuesday in the church. Contributions may be made to First Church of God, Salt Springs Road, Mineral Ridge.
