VERONICA P. HYNNIMAN, 94
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus Church, Sharon, for Veronica P. Hynniman, 94, of John XXIII Home, who died Tuesday afternoon at the home after a long illness.
Mrs. Hynniman was born July 27, 1906, in Sharon, a daughter of Patrick J. and Maria Flynn Hanley. She had been a stenographer for Protected Life Insurance Co., and was one of the first workers to use a bookkeeping machine while employed there.
She was a member of the church, Civic League of Jefferson Township, the Bailindo Dance Club, Emeso Social Club, the Hickory Township (now City of Hermitage) Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and Jefferson Grange. She was a judge of elections for 40 years in Jefferson Township. A 1923 graduate of Sacred Heart School, she was a star basketball player there.
Her husband, Onnie, whom she married May 27, 1930, died March 13, 1979.
She leaves two daughters, Shirley J. Swanson of Hermitage and Rita L. Breitz of Columbiana; two sons, Clifford E. of Lexington, Ky., and Larry H. of Butler, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Five sisters, Mae Sheridan, Susanna Carney, Marie Blackburn, Theresa Hanley and Camilla Griffith; and two brothers, George and James Hanley, are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, where a prayer service and reading of the rosary will be at 3:30 p.m.
