YOUNGSTOWN -- About 15,000 people in Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties and parts of western Pennsylvania were without power for several hours Thursday as the result of a wind storm. Paul Harkey of Ohio Edison Co. said complaints about scattered power outages in the area started coming into his office just before noon. By 7 p.m., 8,000 customers had power restored and crews were working to restore power to the remaining customers by midnight. Thursday's winds gusted near 60 mph before quieting in the early evening.
