REV. BARBARA J. ANDERSON, 52 Founding member of Crossroad Church



NILES -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McDermott Memorial Home for the Rev. Barbara J. Anderson, 52, of 217 Short St., who died of complications of sepsis Tuesday morning in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
The Rev. Mrs. Anderson was born April 26, 1948, in Cleveland, a daughter of Clarence and Hessie Curry Young, and lived most of her life in Trumbull County.
She was a founding member of Crossroad Evangelical Church in McDonald and supervised its Rangers and Missionettes Programs. She also was founder of Sonshine Ministries in Niles. She was president of Niles FLAME and was a member of Salvation Army, where she taught ceramics.
She was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was an ordained evangelical minister.
Besides her mother of Phoenix, Ariz., she leaves her husband, William J., whom she married Sept. 26, 1970; a son, William J. Jr. of Niles; a daughter, Heidi J. Young of Glendale, Ariz., her daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson, with whom she made her home; four sisters, Patricia Young of Phoenix, Ariz., Gail Russell and Kathryn Symcheck, both of Niles, and Betty Hornbeck of Farmdale; two brothers, Richard and Russell Young, both of Phoenix; and four grandchildren.
A sister, Penny Young, is deceased.
