JOSEPH R. KAPP, 74 Was a doctor in Struthers in the 1950s



CAMPBELL -- Services were March 23 in New Life Christian Center, Celina, Ohio, for Dr. Joseph R. Kapp, 74, of 107 Bay Drive, Celina, formerly of Campbell and Struthers, who died March 15 at his home, after a long illness.
Dr. Kapp was born April 3, 1926, in Stratton, Ohio, a son of Michael and Mary Sotak Czap, and had lived in Campbell. He practiced medicine in Struthers in the 1950s until moving to western Ohio in 1964. A graduate of the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he retired from the emergency department of Paulding County Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, the former Victoria Fortman, whom he married July 12, 1983, he leaves two daughters, Jodi Burgess of Sacramento, Calif., and Jeri Sue Manning of Milford, Mich.; a son, Josh of Pelham, N.Y.; two stepsons, Scott Dues of Gulfport, Miss., and Patrick Dues of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Eleanor Wilkeson of Scott, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.
Two brothers, William and John Czap, are deceased.
Local arrangements are by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
