Approved contracts for four administrators: Mark Lucas, middle school principal, $66,951; Joseph Lukz, high school assistant principal; $62,120; Ann Novotny, director of educational services, $58,669; Raymond Vitullo, middle school assistant principal, $52,457.
Approved a resolution supporting the Ohio House of Representatives' school-funding plan, which, among other things, would eliminate the long-standing practice of budgeting public schools after all other state programs are funded and increasing funding for special education programs.
Approved an agreement with George Roman Auctioneers and Realty Co. of Canfield to conduct a public auction June 30 at the high school to get rid of the district's unusable equipment.
Accepted the retirement of Katherine Sefcik, effective July 1, after 35 years as director of special education and middle school teacher.
Heard from representatives seeking to use the football stadium for a fund-raising event May 31 and June 1, 2002, for the American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life.
