BRIAN P. FRENCH, 48 Was co-owner of bridal shop



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home, New Castle, for Brian P. French, 48, of 2875 Blews Way, who died Monday afternoon in St. Francis Hospital. The Lawrence County coroner's ruling is pending.
Mr. French was born Oct. 14, 1952, in New Castle, a son of Robert C. and Helen L. Reinhard French.
He graduated in 1971 from Lawrence County Vo-Tech High School, attended New Castle Business College, and was a decorated Navy veteran of the Vietnam War who received Combat Action Ribbon.
He was a power plant operator for Orion Power in West Pittsburg for 21 years and was co-owner with his wife of Beautiful Beginnings Bridal Shop since 1994.
He was a member of St. Vitus Church, Polish Falcons Club and Golf League and Laugh-Ins Bowling League.
Besides his parents of New Castle, he leaves his wife, the former Debra DeSimone, whom he married March 12, 1977; a daughter, Tressa L. French, and a son, Brian P. Jr., both at home; a brother, Robert M. of Pittsburgh; and three sisters, Mary Jo Jones of Mansfield, Pa., Helen A. McAnallen of Pulaski, and Gladys A. McVay of New Castle.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The New Castle Area Honor Guard will provide military rites Friday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Vitus Church.
