ALVIN F. GORBY, 76

EAST PALESTINE -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at The First Church of Christ for Alvin F. Gorby, 76, of 3921 West Main Street, New Waterford, formerly of East Palestine, who died Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center where he had been a patient one week.
Mr. Gorby was born Aug. 6, 1924, in East Palestine, a son of Peter C. and Lila Norton Gorby.
He worked for Kenmar Furniture Co. 47 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the church and its Classic Christians Sunday School Class.
He leaves his wife, the former Carol Hartman, whom he married Nov. 11, 1948; a son, Danny L. of Norwich, Conn.; two daughters, Diana L. Riggs of Frederick, Md., and Darlene S. Bartholow of Columbiana; a brother, Alfred B. Gorby of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
A brother, Merele Walker, and a sister, Eileen Boner-Baker, are deceased.
Friends may call one hour before services at the church.
Contributions may be made to local benevolence fund of the church.
Arrangements are by Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home.
