AUSTINTOWN -- Youngstown Mayor George M. McKelvey pleaded no contest Monday night in Mahoning County Court in Austintown and was fined $25 as the result of a three-car accident March 16 on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman.
The mayor was charged with failure to maintain assured cleared distance.
Judges in the county courts in Boardman and Canfield had removed themselves from the case.
Officials set up glucose,cholesterol screenings
YOUNGSTOWN -- The city health district will offer glucose and cholesterol screenings from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at its offices in Oakhill Renaissance Place.
Cost is $7. No appointment is needed.
People should fast at least eight hours before testing.
Clothing giveaway
YOUNGSTOWN -- Victory Lutheran Church, 2110 Glenwood Ave., will give away clothing from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Recipients are asked to bring identification.
