GEORGE R. THOMAS, 89

VIENNA -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Madasz Funeral Home, Brookfield, for George R. Thomas, 89, of 1357 Warner Road, who died Monday morning at home.
Mr. Thomas was born April 29, 1911, in Hungary, a son of Andy and Elizabeth Kubervica Thomas Sr.
He retired in 1976 after 40 years at U.S. Steel in Youngstown, where he was a crane operator. He had also farmed with his sons and was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown.
His wife, the former Elizabeth Soltesz, whom he married June 30, 1932, died Oct. 18, 1993.
He leaves two sons, George P. and Ronald F., both of Vienna; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Andy and John, and a sister, are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
