VANCE A. HOFMANN, 90
CANFIELD -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield, for Vance A. Hofmann, 90, of 3625 S. Turner Road, who died Saturday in Clare Bridge Cottage Assisted Living Center in Austintown.
Mr. Hofmann was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Canfield Township, a son of Lewis H. and Sarah A. Hollabaugh Hofmann.
He was superintendent of utilities and electrical maintenance for U.S. Steel Ohio Works in Youngstown when he retired in 1975.
He was a former member of Canfield Christian Church, and a member of the advisory board of the Republic National Party and member of Biblical Archaeology Society and Mahoning Valley Industrial Management Association. He was a graduate of Canfield High School and Carnegie Technical Institute.
Besides his wife, the former Dorothy Baird, whom he married April 15, 1934, he leaves a daughter, Cheri Williams of Canfield; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
A sister, Louise Yeagley, is deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Running Strong for American Indian Youth, 8815 Telegraph Road, Lorton, Va.
