HIGH SCHOOL Boardman softball team splits, runs record to 7-1



BOARDMAN -- Marissa Bartholomew had two singles and a double to lead Boardman past Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 10-2 in a high school softball game Saturday.
North Allegheny plated a run in the top of the eighth inning to trim Boardman 3-2 in another game Saturday.
Against NDCL (2-2), the Spartans (7-1) scored five runs in the second and five more in the sixth on a 12-hit attack. Jennifer Pancake (2-0) got the win.
Laura Amero and Pam Prystash each had a single and a double, while Mary McCabe singled twice for the Spartans in the opener.
Kari Stigerwald of North Allegheny led off the top of the eighth and reached on an infield error. She stole second.
Two outs later she scored on a single to give the Tigers a 7-0 record.
Gina Rango homered and singled for the Spartans against North Allegheny.
