Mississippi honors
JACKSON, Miss. -- Blues men Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, rock 'n' roll pianist Jerry Lee Lewis and gospel singer James Blackwood are among the 17 new inductees into the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame.
Despite a recent stroke, Blackwood, 82, of the Blackwood Brothers Quartet, attended.
Marty Stuart, Pop Staples and the Staples Singers, Mose Allison, Charley Pride, Dorothy Moore and Conway Twitty also were inducted. They were chosen from 13 categories.
Cledus T. joins tour
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The macho men of the Neon Circus and Wild West Show have hired Cledus T. Judd as their court jester.
The country music tour, which opens April 27 in Little Rock, Ark., features headliner Brooks & amp; Dunn, along with Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry and Keith Urban.
"It's like getting six buddies to go out and spend three months together," said Judd, who does parodies of country music hits.

Choir concert
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College Touring Choir will offer its home concert at 8 p.m. April 20 in Harbison Chapel, after a nine-day tour of the West Coast. The 44-member troupe, under the direction of Dr. Douglas A. Browne, music professor, is performing at churches in the Sacramento and San Diego areas in a tour that began Saturday and ends April 15. The home concert, which will feature sacred music, is free and open to the public.
Folk music
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The husband and wife folk duo Armor & amp; Sturtevant of Erie will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Down Under -- the nonalcoholic pub in the basement of Eichenauer Hall at Westminster College. The free musical program is open to the public. The couple's music features items such as a balloons, bottle caps, pieces of rake tine, scraps of plastic plumbing pipe and a 1964 Nash Rambler hubcap. The couple has been touring since 1991.
Sixth-grader as Oliver
BURGHILL -- Scott Difford of Burghill, a sixth-grader at Badger Middle School in Kinsman, will star as Oliver in the musical hit "Oliver" at the Aurora Community Theater, weekends from April 27 through May 19. Scott has appeared in several other productions including "Christmas Bells Are Ringing" at Kent State University's Trumbull Campus and "The Sound of Music" at the Carousel Dinner Theatre in Akron. A cast of 50 will star in the upcoming production of "Oliver" under the direction of Kim McCutchan of Canton. To order tickets, call (330) 562-1818.
Watercolor class
SHARON, Pa. -- The Valley Arts Guild will offer a watercolor class for teens and adults beginning Tuesday. The fee for the six-week class is $45 and it is open to beginners as well as seasoned painters.
