HOWARD LORENZO FAISON SR., 74 Had owned 2 plumbing companies
HUBBARD -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Alpha & amp; Omega First Baptist Church for Howard Lorenzo Faison Sr., 74, of 6470 Ashler Ave., who died Friday in Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Faison was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Hubbard, a son of Robert Sr. and Frances Stubblefield Faison, and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1944 graduate of Hubbard High School, he attended Wilberforce University and Stewart Thompson School of Plumbing in San Francisco while still in the Navy.
He became a master plumber in Trumbull County in 1954 and in Mahoning County in 1957. He was plumbing inspector and sanitarian for Trumbull County for 10 years beginning in 1981, and for Mahoning County for 10 years before retiring in 1998. He worked in the Valley for 45 years.
He and his brother owned and operated Faison & amp; Faison Plumbing until 1974, when he started Howard Faison Plumbing on his own.
He was a member of the church and a member and former chairman of its trustee board, a member of its Harmony Choir and Male Chorus and was its senior choir director. He was also a member of McGuffey Center, Maplewood Community Club and the NAACP. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Besides his wife, the former Helen E. Alli, whom he married Sept. 12, 1947, he leaves a daughter, Valerie Graves of Cleveland; a son, Howard L. Jr. of Youngstown; three brothers, Robert of Hubbard, Max of Weirton, W.Va., and John of Youngstown; a sister, Pauline Sibley of Alliance; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A sister, Tomasina Harper, and two brothers, Fred and Charles, are deceased.
Friends may call for one hour before the services in the church. Arrangements are by Black & amp; Phillips Funeral Home.
