March 23, 1953: Dedication day for Cafaro Memorial Hospital, a $250,000 a 30-bed facility.
May 12, 1973: Patients moved into a new, three-story, $1 million wing.
March 1, 1978: Ohio University, Athens, designates the hospital as its medical campus for east-central Ohio.
Nov. 9, 1979: Opening of the $2 million Harry Meshel-George Tablack Clinical Education Facility.
June 7, 1984: Hospital unveils a $3.5 million addition housing coronary, maternity and general medicine units.
Feb. 28, 1995: Officials announce they're looking for a buyer or an opportunity to merge with a managed care network.
March 11, 1999: Hospital files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
March 22, 2000: Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital announces permanent closing.
April 10, 2001: Hearing scheduled in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Youngstown, to establish bidding procedures for an auction of the property.
