Allegheny College
John Gagliardi, the second winningest coach in college football history, will visit Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., on April 12. Gagliardi, a college football coach for 52 years, including 48 of them at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn., will be visiting with Allegheny officials, students, area high school coaches and the media. The day-long event is by invitation only.
Baldwin-Wallace College
Howland High's Chuck Scarbrough has chosen to attend Baldwin-Wallace College where he will continue his golf career. Scarbrough was low average in the All-Metro Athletic Conference in 1999 and third-lowest in 2000 and was an All-MAC selection in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Scarbrough also won the 1999 Cardinal Classic and placed third in 2000.
Malone College
Mitch Fusek, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound split end and strong safety for Canfield High, has signed a letter-of-intent to play football at Malone College. Fusek was a first team All-Metro Athletic Conference defensive back and earned first-team All-Northeastern Ohio District. He also received honorable mention on the All-Ohio team.
Mount Union College
Junior Brandon McIntyre (3-1), a Ravenna High graduate, has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference pitcher of the week. He was 2-0 last week, allowed just three runs and struck out 10 in 14 innings of work.
Thiel College
Sean Clark and Dustin Wilkinson, two Tomcat senior wrestlers, have been named to the Division III National Wrestling Coaches Scholar All-American Team.
Walsh University
Dustin Beadnell of Beaver Local High School is one of 25 recruits who will suit up for Walsh University next fall when the Cavs begin their seventh season of intercollegiate football. Beadnell was all-county and second-team All-NEO for coach Rich Wright. Walsh finished 6-5 last season and 4-2 in the Mideast League of the Mid-States Football Association.
Westminster College
Midfielder Stephanie Toth of Elizabeth Forward High School and goalkeeper Nicole Drummond of Keystone Oaks High School will continue their soccer careers as Titans.
