JAMES E. KNAG, 84
HUBBARD -- Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Kelley-Robb Funeral Home for James E. Knag, 84, of 6083 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, who died of cancer Friday morning at his home.
Mr. Knag was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Shenandoah, Iowa, a son of Jess and Etta Mae Elliot Knag, and lived in Hubbard for 15 years after moving from Youngstown. He worked as a truck driver for Lake Shore Motor Freight for 40 years before retiring in 1991.
He served in the Army Air Force 95th Bomb Group during World War II.
He was a member of VFW posts in Hubbard and Girard, American Legion Girard Post 235, Teamsters Union Local 377, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Besides his wife, the former Doris Bell, whom he married July 22, 1974, he leaves a son, Randell Thorpe of Hubbard; two daughters, Karen Bigelow of Warren and Leslie Thorpe Wileman of Elkins, W.Va.; a sister, Bernice Billeter of Gordon, Neb.; and five grandchildren.
Two brothers, Leon and Lyle, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
