DALE DELFS BOWMAN, 74
ELLSWORTH -- There were no services or calling hours for Dale Delfs Bowman, 74, of Grants Pass, Oregon, formerly of Ellsworth Township, who died March 14 at home.
Mr. Bowman was born March 29, 1926, in Ellsworth, a son of Hugh and Ethel Bowman. He was a local Buick sales representative, achieving many awards. He moved to Southern California in 1963, where he worked at Citizen Bank and became vice president of Wells Fargo Bank.
He was commodore of the Sunset Aquatic Yacht Club and president of Signal Hills Lions Club in Long Beach, Calif. His international installation for Lions Club took place in Maui, Hawaii, and the Lions placed a plaque in his honor at The City of Hope Hospital in Southern California. He was a World War II Marine veteran, serving at Iwo Jima.
Besides his wife, the former Treva Ritchey, whom he married in 1947, he leaves a daughter, Sherry Bowman of Grants Pass; two brothers, Lee of Hanoverton and Roy of Columbiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A son, David, is deceased.
