VIRGINIA RUSSELL, 85

YOUNGSTOWN -- Services were Thursday at Oak Hill Funeral Home, San Jose, Calif., for Virginia Russell, 85, of San Jose, formerly of Glenaven Avenue and Arden Boulevard in Youngstown and Neff Drive in Canfield, who died Sunday at West Valley Convalescent Center in San Jose.
Mrs. Russell was born June 30, 1915, in Youngstown, a daughter of Allen and Nelly Funkhauser Moody, and lived in the Mahoning Valley until moving to California in 1997.
She graduated in 1932 from South High School and worked at Strouss' department store before becoming a full-time homemaker.
She was a member of Canfield Presbyterian Church and Tippecanoe Country Club and was a founding member of the Junior De Nova Club.
Her husband, Jack, whom she married in 1938, died in 1990.
She leaves two sons, Greggory of Columbus and Jeffrey of San Jose, and two granddaughters.
A brother, Myron Funkhauser, and two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Pearl Amon, are deceased.
